EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT

Join us each Tuesday at Future Yard, Birkenhead for a couple of hours of chill time with the lads.

There is no need to book in, but doing so helps us plan the activities better, which will make them more enjoyable for you

fundraiser event!

Join us for a magical Kids Christmas Party hosted by Wirral Wise Guys! 🎅🎄 Bring the whole family for a festive afternoon filled with fun activities and holiday cheer. Santa will be making a special appearance to meet the kids, plus we’ll have a DJ spinning your favorite tunes to burn off all that Christmas energy, and plenty of delicious food for the children.

This event isn’t just about having a good time – it’s all in aid of raising funds to support the physical and mental wellbeing of men throughout the Wirral. All proceeds go directly to Wirral Wise Guys, a local charity dedicated to improving men’s mental and physical health through our various community programs.

Come celebrate the season with us while supporting a fantastic cause that’s making a real difference in the lives of men across our community. Don’t miss out on the holiday fun for a great cause!

1-2-1
peer support

Do you prefer one to one conversations, rather than group activities? Do you want to talk confidentially with someone who is just like you?

WE CAN'T CLAIM TO CHANGE THE WORLD, BUT IF WE CAN A DIFFERENCE TO ONE MAN, WE HAVE SUCCEEDED

2 YEAR PLAN

OUR OBJECTIVES

It is well known and documented, that men are less likely to ask for help during a mental health crisis or even reach out when the going gets tough.  We will be offering activities aimed at getting men talking more and seeking help, rather than keeping a 'stiff upper lip' It's ok, not to be ok
MENTAL HEALTH
Physical and mental health are very closely related, as one impacts the other.  Our projects and activities will encourage guys to move more, releasing those much needed happy hormones. There will be activities for all levels of fitness and interests.
PHYSICAL HEALTH
Did you know that 10% of new fathers, suffer from post natal depression?  Being a new dad can be tough, as roles change within the family We are developing a programme of fun and informative classes, just for dads, helping you negotiate the biggest challenge of your life!
FATHERHOOD
Men can become isolated for many reasons; redundancy, relationship breakdown, mental health issues.  Social isolation can someone's physical and mental health We are hoping to regenerate some neglected green spaces around the area and gardening can be seriously therapeutic!
SOCIAL ISOLATION
We spend most of our lives working. If our work life is stressful, it will impact on our sleep and a downward spiral results.  We will be approaching employers around the region, to encourage them to introduce mental health first aiders and can help facilitate this through training and support
WORKPLACE STRESS
There is a shame surrounding domestic violence, especially among male victims.  Incidents of male domestic violence amongst same sex and heterosexual couples, is on the increase.  We are looking at being a first port of call for men in a domestic violence crisis offering immediate support and advice

OUR SUCCESSES

We couldn’t be prouder of the 36 men from our project, Wirral Football Therapy, who recently participated in a competitive match against each other, all in the name of men’s wellbeing. A special shoutout goes to the many supporters who came along to cheer them on, it truly shows the strength of our community.

This project has been running since April, and in just a few months, over 60 men have taken part. We’ve witnessed the formation of new friendships, significant improvements in mental health, and many participants reporting better physical health as well.

We’re excited to see just how far we can take this project. Sport has an incredible power to enhance overall health, and we believe in its potential to make a lasting impact on the lives of our participants.

We also need to give a special mention to New Brighton Victoria FC, a club who share in our charity values, who have helped us immensely with this project. Their ongoing support has been incredible.

As we look to the future, we have several team sponsorship opportunities available in the coming months, as well as sponsorships for upcoming football events. For more information, please reach out to james@wirralwiseguys.co.uk. We’d love you to be involved in this incredible journey.
