ONE BAD CHAPTER DOESN'T MEAN YOUR STORY IS OVER
WIRRAL WISE GUYS MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to empower men to prioritise and enhance their overall wellbeing through education, awareness, and support. We strive to foster a culture where men are encouraged to proactively address their physical, mental, and emotional health, resulting in healthier, happier lives. By providing accessible resources, promoting open conversations, and promoting positive lifestyle choices, we aim to inspire men to take charge of their wellbeing and create a ripple effect of wellness within their families and communities.
Together, we are dedicated to breaking down societal stigmas and expectations, promoting early detection and prevention, and equipping men with the tools and knowledge needed to lead fulfilling and balanced lives. Our commitment lies in fostering a world where every man feels empowered, supported, and able to thrive in all aspects of their well-being

OUR SUCCESSES
We couldn’t be prouder of the 36 men from our project, Wirral Football Therapy, who recently participated in a competitive match against each other, all in the name of men’s wellbeing. A special shoutout goes to the many supporters who came along to cheer them on, it truly shows the strength of our community.
This project has been running since April, and in just a few months, over 60 men have taken part. We’ve witnessed the formation of new friendships, significant improvements in mental health, and many participants reporting better physical health as well.
We’re excited to see just how far we can take this project. Sport has an incredible power to enhance overall health, and we believe in its potential to make a lasting impact on the lives of our participants.
We also need to give a special mention to New Brighton Victoria FC, a club who share in our charity values, who have helped us immensely with this project. Their ongoing support has been incredible.
As we look to the future, we have several team sponsorship opportunities available in the coming months, as well as sponsorships for upcoming football events. For more information, please reach out to james@wirralwiseguys.co.uk. We’d love you to be involved in this incredible journey.

Michael Seddon - Trustee
Hi I’m Mike and I’m one of the WWG Trustees.
When Vicky asked me if I wanted to be a Trustee I jumped at the opportunity as it enables me to give back and help to support others.
I have struggled with my own mental health as an adult and Bulimia and Bulimic tendencies. I know that men find it hard to talk and sometimes access support services.
I use exercise and being in the outdoors as my therapy and enter different sporting events and challenges to raise money for the charity.
Darrol Walsh - Trustee
I’m Darrol, I’m very proud to be a part of the WWG team.
I am married with two grown up kids and live in Warrington, I have had my fair share of mental health struggles over the last 20+ years, probably longer if I look at my childhood, which is why I was so keen to be part of this.
I have my Mental Health First Aid L2 and this has given me the opportunity to give back to people that have helped me.
James Sheldon - Executive Director
I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I’m James, the Executive Director here at Wirral Wise Guys.
I’ve faced mental health challenges for as long as I can remember, and being an autistic man with two serious mental health conditions, including an eating disorder, has given me first hand insight into the struggles that many men experience. This personal journey fuels my determination to help as many men as possible lead happier, healthier lives.
My path hasn’t been an easy one. From navigating the complexities of family court to being discharged from the armed forces due to my mental health, I’ve encountered many hurdles. These experiences have deepened my passion for the work we do at Wirral Wise Guys, and they give me a unique perspective on the struggles men can endure.
I’m deeply committed to our mission and take a hands on approach to the services that we offer. I make it a priority to get to know the men we support on an individual level, ensuring that we offer the personalised care and understanding they deserve.
Vicky Feeney - Chair
I’m Vicky, the founder and Chair of Wirral Wise Guys.
The charity has been something I wanted to get off the ground for a long time, after seeing men around me suffer in silence. My husband, my father and my sons. They all had their struggles, but didn’t know where to turn for help. Men aren’t great at opening up and this really worried me.
Wirral Wise Guys was years in the making, with lots of ideas and oodles of passion! The only thing missing was the right guy to lead the ship; then I met James.
Together, we have built the charity from nothing; myself as the business and admin brain behind it and James as the Director and facilitator of our mission.
I am so proud of where Wirral Wise Guys has come in such a sort space of time and the men we have helped along the way.
LIAM FEENEY - trustee
Passionate about good causes and well being, I jumped at the chance to be a trustee for this great cause.
I have a background in finance having worked for 7 years in consumer finance and banking which has positioned me to see the implications of poor financial well being and how that affects everything else.
I have previously held non exec roles and have a passion for supporting and driving early stage ventures to the next step.
Along the way I have met too many people who could have used the services of Wirral Wise Guys, from students who are entrepreneurs trying to get their first break to well established professionals who did not realise they needed support until it was too late.
I look forward to meeting everyone at our future events; watch this space!
